About LinmiR
LinmiR Millinery is Linda Mirembe’s a realization of her early-childhood creativity with scissors, threads and needles as she experimented with her siblings’ outfits.
LinmiR was founded after the Ugandan-born, UK-based, mother-of-three took hat-making lessons as a pass-time from a retired professional milliner whose former clients included members of the British Royal Family.
LinmiR creations then made their first public appearance at Young Designer Awards’ Radical Awards in London in 2011. Since then, LinmiR has won the BEFFTA Designer of the Year
award and showcased at a number of fashion events in UK as well as international fashion events in USA and Ireland, among others.
In 2013 one of LinmiR’s pieces, that was specially created to celebrate 50yrs of Uganda’s independence graced The Hat Stand in the April issue of British Vogue magazine and, later, by Stylist magazine’s The Next Maker. LinmiR has also featured in London Evening Standard, The Voice newspaper, Brides (Diamond Jubilee issue), British Vogue’s Royal Enclosure 2015, Elle magazine, and Your Surrey Wedding among other publications.
